Bronco vs. Wrangler Power & Capability

Both Ford Bronco and the Jeep Wrangler offer a few engine choices, but both start off differently with their standard engines. The Bronco comes with a turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder engine that boasts an impressive 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque*. It comes mated to a 7-speed manual transmission or an available 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Jeep Wrangler, on the other hand, is outfitted with a 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine that’s only capable of generating 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Wrangler pairs this to a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic. With the extra gears, the Bronco is equivalent to the V6 Wrangler in fuel economy, with 20 mpg combined for automatic-equipped models.

Both Wrangler and Bronco are known as excellent off-roaders, but many aspects of the Bronco give it the edge. This includes its maximum ground clearance of 13.1" vs. the Wrangler's 12.9", as well as the water fording depth of 33.5" vs. Wrangler's 30".

Passenger Space & Cargo Room

Both Bronco and Wrangler offer the choice of 2- and 4-door bodystyles. There’s a clear difference between the Jeep Wrangler vs. Ford Bronco when it comes to space with either bodystyle however, as Bronco offers more cargo room in both than Wrangler.

The Ford Bronco features 35.6 cubic feet behind its second row, while the Jeep Wrangler includes just 31.7 cubic feet. When the rear seats are folded flat, the Bronco offers 77.6 cubic feet, while the Jeep Wrangler includes just 72.4 cubic feet.

Technology Features & Comfort

While both models offer a surprising amount of tech for such hardcore offroaders, the Bronco features a little more standard. Ford's BLIS Blind-Spot Information System is standard on Bronco. Jeep's equivalent feature is optional on Wrangler.

Further, Ford Bronco features a 12" digital gauge cluster standard, offering tons of customization. Jeep Wrangler only features an available 7" digital display as an upgrade from its standard 3.5" display.

Bronco has also been considered the more refined choice to use in day-to-day commuting. U.S. News & World Report stated that Bronco has "a comfortable interior that doesn’t feel cheap," with superior comfort, quality, and features over Jeep Wrangler.
