2023 Ford Ranger

The entry-level XL has 16-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights, and a manually locking tailgate. The XLT adds alloy wheels, LED taillights, fog lights, and upgraded exterior trim elements, along with the option for power-folding mirrors, and your choice of a Sport, Chrome, or Black appearance package. Stepping up to the Lariat gets you LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and automatic headlights. It also has LED lighting in the bed, heated and power-folding side exterior mirrors, and upgraded exterior trim.

The new Tremor Off-Road package upgrades to an off-road suspension, off-road Fox shocks, 32-inch all-terrain tires, and side steps. It also comes with recovery hooks and underbody skid plates.

The Ranger gets power from a 2.3-liter turbo four-cylinder gas engine that puts out 270 horsepower. A ten-speed automatic transmission works with the engine to power either the front wheels or all four wheels.

Behind the wheel, drivers will appreciate the Ranger's quick acceleration and easy handling. The suspension soaks up most road imperfections, while the responsive steering makes it fun to drive. When equipped, it can tow up to 7,500 pounds and handle up to 1,860 pounds in the bed.

Depending on the cab, the Ranger can fit four or five passengers. Front seat passengers enjoy plenty of head and legroom, while the high seating position provides an excellent view of the road. Cloth upholstery comes standard in the XL and XLT, with leather added to the Lariat. A leather-wrapped steering wheel is optional for the XLT, along with heated front seats. These features come standard in the Lariat.

Technology in the Ranger starts with a 3.5-inch display screen, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a USB port. An 8-inch touch-screen display is optional for the XL and comes standard with the XLT. The SYNC 3 infotainment system also comes in the XLT, which has satellite radio, voice controls, and two USB ports. The Lariat adds a 110-volt power outlet and offers a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo system as an upgrade.

The Ranger comes standard with a rearview camera, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. Every trim also has a pedestrian detection system. Ford Co-Pilot360 is optional for the XL and standard in the XLT and Lariat. It comes with a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and a lane-keeping assist system. Rear parking sensors are an optional feature for the XLT. If you add the Technology Package to this trim, it comes with adaptive cruise control and front parking sensors. The Lariat adds all of these optional safety features and makes them standard.
