2023 Ford F-150

The XL is the entry-level F-150 trim. It comes with 17-inch steel wheels and manually-adjustable side mirrors. Step up to the XLT for fog lights, a power-locking tailgate, power-adjustable mirrors, or the Lariat for 18-inch alloy wheels, a chrome 2-bar grille, and heated exterior mirrors. The King Ranch has a two-tone paint scheme, metal scuff plates, LED headlights and taillights, and a remote tailgate release.

If you choose the Platinum trim, it comes with a chrome grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, and power-deployable running boards. The Limited adds a power tailgate, a twin-panel moonroof, and 22-inch wheels, while the new Tremor has off-road extras such as an off-road suspension and off-road shocks, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and orange tow hooks. The all-new Raptor will have taller and stronger shocks, an upgraded suspension, 35-inch off-road tires, and the option for 37-inch tires.

The F-150's engine lineup starts with a 3.3-liter V-6 gas engine with 290 horsepower. From there, you can bump up to a twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 that puts out 325 horsepower or a 5.0-liter V-8 that generates 400 horsepower. A 3.0-liter turbo diesel V-6 is also optional and gets 250 horsepower, or you can get a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 that generates 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. A new 3.5-liter twin-turbo hybrid powertrain delivers 430 horsepower.

When equipped with the twin-turbo V-6, the F-150 can tow up to 14,000 pounds. The new hybrid powertrain can two up to 12,700 pounds and has a 3,250-pound payload. For pickup truck drivers who don't need all this towing power, the 3.3-liter V-6 can still handle up to 8,200 pounds.

Ford updated the F-150's cabin for this year. It has new, premium materials, more storage, and added features such as a mobile workspace. You can access this just by folding down the automatic shifter lever to create a flat workspace. Another new optional feature in the cabin are the Max Recline fold-flat front seats.

An 8-inch touch screen comes standard in the lower trims with a new 12-inch touch screen for the Lariat and above. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come in every Ranger, with wireless charging available as an option for some trims and standard in others. The Limited has Ford's new Pro Power Onboard system when equipped with the hybrid powertrain. This system can power tools, appliances, and more.

Every F-150 comes with a forward-collision warning system, automatic braking, and lane-departure warning. The XLT adds lane-keeping assist, a blind-spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert, while another bump up to the King Ranch adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist. A 360-degree surround-view camera comes in the Limited, and this trim also offers the Active Drive Assist features. This package adds the hardware for an automated driving system that will arrive later.
