2023 Ford Expedition

Car buyers can discover the Ford Expedition in six trims: XL, XLT, Timberline, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum. The entry-level XL trim offers foglights, LED headlights, and 18-inch wheels. If you upgrade to the Timberline trim level you also get a dual exhaust, special exterior trim details, off-road-tuned shock absorbers, and an electronic limited-slip differential. Up next is the Limited trim level, which comes with a panoramic sunroof, 20-inch wheels, and a hands-free liftgate. The King Ranch trim features exclusive badging and emblems, plus 22-inch wheels, power-deployable running boards, and Stone Gray exterior trim. Finally, the Platinum trim level finishes things off with satin aluminum exterior trim details and roof rails with crossbars.

A 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine generates power for the Expedition. This engine can produce 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque with the standard trim level. If you choose the Platinum trim level, horsepower is increased to 400 and torque is increased to 480 pound-feet. The Timberline and Stealth Performance Edition are also powered by this engine, but horsepower production is 440 and torque is 510 pound-feet. All trims of the Ford SUV feature a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Rear-wheel drive is the standard setup of the Expedition, but four-wheel drive is an optional upgrade for some trims and standard with the Timberline trim. If you plan on using the Expedition for off-roading or driving in the snow, four-wheel drive is the way to go. When properly equipped, towing capacity is 9,300 pounds.

The entry-level version of the Expedition offers seating for five, but all other trims increase passenger capacity to seven or eight with a third row of seating. Cloth upholstery is the standard offering, but leather upholstery and vinyl upholstery are available as upgrades. The cabin of this Ford SUV provides 19.3 to 20.9 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, depending on the interior configuration you choose. When folding down the rear seats, total cargo capacity is 104.6 cubic feet. A 12-inch touchscreen comes standard with this modern and accommodating SUV. This screen is compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as four USB ports, a six-speaker stereo system, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
