2023 Ford EcoSport

The entry-level EcoSport S trim has 16-inch alloy wheels and automatic headlights. The SE adds LED running lights, fog lights, body-color exterior trim elements, rear privacy glass, roof rails, and a sunroof. Check out the sporty SES for a sport-tuned suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, and heated side exterior mirrors, or the luxurious Titanium for chrome exterior trim, heated side mirrors, and 17-inch wheels. The new SE Appearance Package will get you the 17-inch alloy wheels for the SE, along with the interior upgrades.

The base engine for the EcoSport is a 1.0-lite three-cylinder gas engine that puts out 123 horsepower. It works with front-wheel drive and uses a six-speed automatic transmission. For some extra power, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 166 horsepower is an available option. This 2.0-liter engine comes only with all-wheel drive and it also uses the six-speed automatic.

The little EcoSport zips around town with little effort and easily slides into tight parking spots, while the responsive steering system makes it fun to take on back curvy roads. The 1.0-liter engine is the more fuel-efficient option and will get up to 27 mpg around town, but both will get 29 mpg on the highway. When equipped, it can tow up to 2,000 pounds.

There's room for five in the EcoSport's cabin, and it has one of the largest cargo areas in its class. Behind the rear seats, you'll find 20.9 cubic feet of storage space, and folding down the rear seats opens this up even further. A tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel comes standard in the S, which also has air conditioning. The SE adds heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and automatic climate control. Bumping up to the Titanium gets you leather upholstery and a heated steering wheel.

For technology features, the entry-level EcoSport has a 4.2-inch display screen, a six-speaker stereo system, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and two USB ports. The SE upgrades to the SYNC 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch touch screen, and it adds Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite radio.

Every EcoSport comes with a rearview camera and blind-spot mirrors. The SE and above replace the blind-spot mirrors with a blind-spot monitoring system and rear cross-traffic alert. For the new model year, every EcoSport comes with Ford's SOS Post-Crash Alert System. This feature helps to alert emergency responders after an accident by sounding the horn and turning on the hazard lights. It also unlocks all the doors to make it easier to get out of the vehicle after an accident or let responders in.
