2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is exactly what drivers are looking for in a modern electric vehicle. This crossover EV has an exterior design that grabs attention wherever it goes and combines it with a modern and comfortable interior. For the 2022 model year, the Mach-E has some added battery capacity, and the California 1 now comes in all-wheel drive and adds some extra comfort features in the cabin. The Ice White Edition is a new special edition mode for 2022.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Mustang Mach-E Select has 18-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights, and automatic LED headlights. It also has heated and power-adjustable side exterior mirrors. Choose the California Route 1 for 18-inch black painted wheels and a fixed-glass panoramic sunroof. Step up to the Premium for 19-inch wheels, a hands-free liftgate, and LED projector headlights. The GT has many of the Premium's features but adds 20-inch wheels with wider tires and red brake calipers. It also has a sport-tuned suspension, a black grille, a black-painted roof, and body-colored fender flares.
Engine (Power)
Each of the Mach-E trims except the GT comes with either one motor and rear-wheel drive or two motors and all-wheel drive. The Select gets 266 horsepower, while the California Route 1 has 266 horsepower. Bump up to the Premium, and you can get up to 346 horsepower, while the GT generates 480 horsepower.
Performance
At the base level, the Mach-E will go up to 247 miles before it needs a charge. The California Route 1 delivers the best range at 314 miles with rear-wheel drive and the extended battery. The GT performance edition with the extended-range battery delivers up to 270 miles of range. No matter which model you have, the electric powertrain delivers quick acceleration from a stop, and the Mach-E is easy to handle, feeling agile over any road. The dual-motor setup is even more exciting to drive, with more power and torque.
Interior
There's room for up to five in the Mach-E, and it comes standard with many creature comforts such as simulated leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. The California Route 1 adds driver's seat memory settings, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel, and the Premium adds a power-adjustable passenger seat and multicolor ambient lighting. In the front, a large 15.5-inch touchscreen stretches across the dash. It works with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and has a navigation system and a six-speaker stereo. Wireless charging comes standard. A 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo comes in the Premium.
Safety Features
Every 2022 Mach-E comes with Ford's Co-Pilot360 suite of advanced safety systems. It includes adaptive cruise control, front collision warning with automatic braking, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-centering assist, and rear parking sensors. It also has a driver alert warning system, automatic rear braking, and automatic high-beam headlights. The California Route 1 and the Premium have Ford's Blue Cruise hands-free driving system that works on select highways throughout the U.S. It adds an automated parking system and a 360-degree surround-view camera system.
