The Ford Focus is categorized as a compact vehicle, while the Ford Fiesta is considered a subcompact car. This difference is first seen when looking at the vehicles from the outside. Both having an appealing exterior design with the Focus being slightly larger than the Fiesta.

The Focus sedan models are 178.7 inches in length with a wheelbase of 104.3 inches. The hatchback models of the Focus have the same wheelbase with a range of lengths from 171.7 inches to 172.9 inches long depending on the specific trim level.

The Fiesta has a wheelbase of 98 in. across all trims and a length of 173.5 inches with the sedan body type and 159.7 inches to 160.1 inches long with the hatchback trim levels. So, in the Fiesta you will be able to maneuver a little easier in more narrow and tighter areas.

Interior Space of Both Ford Models

After checking out the exterior of the Focus and Fiesta, it is time to see how much space you will have inside each vehicle. Although they are both more compact vehicles, they can each sit up to five people along for the ride.

The Focus however will provide more room for the people inside with 90 cu. ft. of passenger volume compared to the 85.1 cu. ft. supplied in the Ford Fiesta. When you take a look at the hatchback models of these two vehicles you will be able to fit a more cargo in the Focus with up to 43.9 cu. ft. of cargo volume. The Fiesta hatchback will only give you a maximum of 25.4 cu. ft. of cargo volume.
