Exploring the Ford Edge MPG Rating
The MPG rating measures how fuel efficient your vehicle is and calculates how many miles it can travel per gallon of gas. Basically, the higher the rating the more fuel-efficient the vehicle is.
When it comes to the Ford Edge, the MPG rating will vary depending on which trim level you end up choosing.
Trim Level |
EPA-estimated City MPG Rating |
EPA-estimated Highway MPG Rating |
Ford Edge SE |

Ford Edge SEL |

Ford Edge ST |

The Ford Edge SE, SEL, and Titanium trim levels come equipped with a standard Twin-scroll 2.0L EcoBoost® engine, which delivers an EPA-estimated 22 city/29 highway MPG. Over in the Ford Edge ST, you’ll get a 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 engine, which gives you an EPA-estimated 19 city/26 highway MPG.
Ford Edge Powertrain and Performance Features
While it’s clear the Ford Edge shines when it comes to fuel-efficiency ratings, it also has powerful performance features that shouldn’t be overlooked.
The Twin-scroll 2.0L EcoBoost® engine found in the SE, SEL, and Titanium trim levels produces 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque capabilities. The 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 engine found in the ST trim level produces 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque capability.
All four trim levels come equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which ensures you a smooth ride. The Hill Start Assist feature is standard, which will help you when towing or traveling up and down steep inclines, so you don’t have to worry about swaying.
A front-wheel drive system is standard, but for those who desire extra traction control, you can add on the available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system. This system can monitor the terrain, weather, and road conditions you’re traveling through, then adjust power between the front and back wheels to maintain balance and avoid slippage and wheel spin.
You can pair the available Class II Trailer Tow Package with the Intelligent All-Wheel drive system to reach the maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds when properly equipped.
