Carolina Country Campground offers something for everyone, including a hiking trail, a Jr. Olympic-size pool, and a lake for fishing and paddle boating.
You’ll be just four miles from historic downtown Salisbury, too. You can spend an afternoon exploring the restaurants, arts, and that welcoming Southern charm! It’s an excellent way to add some culture to your fishing getaway.

For budget-friendly fishing, a day at Salisbury’s Community Park may be perfect for you. The lake is well-stocked with fish and has picnic decks, so you can enjoy the views as you eat. When you’re all fished out, you can get a real workout with over five miles of hiking trails.
You’ll also find four soccer fields and five ball fields on site. The kids can enjoy climbing and sliding on the play structures as you fish for the day’s catch!

Dan Nicholas Park is free to enter, though you’ll need to purchase a pass to fish in bountiful Lake Murtis. It’s a spring-fed, 10-acre lake with all manner of fish, including bream, smallmouth bass, and catfish. The bass are catch-and-release, though you can keep all other fish you find.
If you like, you can even take a paddleboat out on the lake! The best views of the bridge can only be seen by boat. Don’t forget to check out the nature center, aquarium, and gem mine when you visit this park.
