Celebrate the Fourth of July in Style
Looking for a way to kick off Fourth of July festivities in Charlotte, NC? You’re in luck! The U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) is once again hosting its summer classic: the Fourth of July Celebration. For two days, you can get outside and active over the holidays and enjoy all the festival events.
The festivities start at 9 AM on Wednesday, July 3rd, and continue through Independence Day. Mark your calendars and plan your day—you won’t want to miss this!
Fabulous Fourth of July
The USNWC’s Fourth of July Celebration is back for its ninth year, and all the usual festivities are scheduled!
You can enjoy live music, yoga practice, and even the Battle Royale SUP Sprint. This beginner-friendly race will take place on the lower pond of the USNWC. Race registration includes the stand-up paddleboard and all other equipment needed. Savor the friendly competition and stay active this Independence Day.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Fourth of July without fireworks. Two days of booming pyrotechnics await. The illuminations begin at 9:30 PM on both nights, with the world’s largest man-made whitewater river as a backdrop to the show.
Event Details & Facilities
Like other USNWC festivals, the Fourth of July Celebration is free to attend, open to the public, and doesn’t require tickets. You can also take advantage of the center’s many facilities on site—including the food and beverage establishments.
Restaurants include the Pump House Biergarten, which sits on Belmont Abbey Island and offers as many as 60 beers on tap. Sit down and enjoy a drink as you overlook the Competition Channel. Then, stop at the River’s Edge and have food, beer, and wine on the patio—and take in the views of the whitewater river below!
The live music lineup is shaping up quite well. Look forward to live performances by Los Colognes, Rayland Baxter, Smooth Hound Smith, and North Mississippi Allstars!
