2018 Ford Mustang Review

2018 Ford MustangIf you’re in the market for a bold, striking pony car, it’s always best to start your search with the original. The Mustang has been around since the 1960s, and the 2018 Ford Mustang enhances the brand yet again with refreshed styling and more powerful engines.

We think sports car enthusiasts across Salisbury and Mooresville will like what this ride has to offer. Read this car review to discover whether the 2018 Mustang is ideal for your Lexington or Kannapolis drive. Have any questions? Just reach out to us at Cloninger Ford!

2018 Mustang: A Refreshed Exterior

The Mustang is truly a sculpture on wheels. Also, it’s one that’s had plenty of nip-and-tuck over the years to make that eye-catching design even more perfect. For 2018, you’ll see a lower and flatter hood, as well as a sharper, more angular appearance and tauter sheet metal.

The headlights and taillights have been fully redesigned and now use LED technology. Besides shining even brighter, they offer a 30 percent power reduction over the HID lights from the previous model year. Enjoy the efficiency of your signature lighting, low beams, projector high beams, and more!

Plus, the range of paint colors has expanded. In 2018, you can get your pony car in a rich-yet-refined Royal Crimson, carefree Kona Blue, or race-ready Orange Fury. That last shade contrasts well with the available 19-inch Ebony Black-painted aluminum wheels—and the full Black Accent Package only sweetens the deal.

Potent Pony Car Performance Specs

The Ford Mustangs benefit from a powerful engine lineup, which includes engines for all purposes. If you want your Mustang to be a daily driver, the base 2.3L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder may be ideal, with 310 horsepower on tap. In the fastback model, you’ll see an EPA-estimated 21 city and 32 highway MPG.

That’s the most efficient Mustang, but what about the most powerful? Shelby GT350 models aside, that would be the Mustang GT, with a 5.0L V8 under the hood. With an impactful 460 horsepower, you can take on the roads with even more speed.

This year, there’s a new available transmission for your Mustang: a 10-speed SelectShift® automatic. This one is designed for optimal ratio progression and efficiency, with more accurate (and faster) upshift and downshift capability as well. Steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters make for yet more thrills!

Some All-Star Technology Features

2018 Ford Mustang TechWhy take a ride in the 2018 Mustang? If the performance capabilities and sleek design aren’t enough, the available technology really seals the deal. With the fully upgraded SYNC® 3 infotainment system, you can have an 8-inch touchscreen right below those retro dashboard A/C vents.

It’s incredibly user-friendly, and it offers smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. If you have an iPhone or Android device, you can “sync” it with the system and use all your favorite music, maps, and messaging apps right from the touchscreen.

If you do find yourself listening to music, the available 390-watt Shaker™ audio system is the best way to do it. With 12 speakers, an 8-inch subwoofer for rich bass notes, and HD Radio™ technology, you can enjoy crystal-clear reception—music the way it was meant to be heard.
